Firstly, I hope not to be involved in these events, but looking at the structures involved I think its terrible that they've restricted the blinds in the first 4 levels to shorter time frames, this gives the weaker player better chances etc and removes some of the early play from the game.

What do other people think or is this ok? I think its a bit rich changing the structure as the levels get bigger, the idea I guess is to get rid of players as quick as possible instead of giving them a good value game. I know its commercial, but 750 and 500 is not cheap etc and the rake is a good amount also.

If Stev from pokerevents is still about I would like to hear is view on this?

I agree with all of the above. Surely the whole weekend is about playing decent poker. It's a pity, considering the ME is as good as you can get anywhere.

its absolutely disgraceful, the side events at Poker Events games are always terrible, they just worry about the main event and the other games are just crapshoot type things. i swore after the last time id never play a side event again.

25 min levels in a €750 game is a shambles!!!

The side events are awful - as they were at the EPT. FFS, €750 is a big buyin and one would expect at least 45 min levels and 8,000 chips to start with.

My advice: play the SE monthly game on Saturday. 8,000 chips // 4 x 30 mins // reverting to a 45 min clock from 150 / 300. All for €220 + 20. Cracking value IMO.

I was going to play these side events but im seriously considering not bothering now. The only value is in the main event which seems pretty decent. does anyone know what sort of structures are in the stts this time.

    Hi Dacman

Dropped in last night on the way home and played a €100 SNG.

    10 minute levels. 3k stack. Blinds 25/50 - 50/100 - 100/200 - 150/300 - 200/400 - 300/600 - finger on trigger - fire.

It was one of those "Any Two Will Do" type games. A Scandie sitting beside me was doubled up laughing at the standard of play.

I think they are offering SNG's up to €1,000 over the weekend. Not for the faint hearted if the game I played is anything to go by.

I'm playing the ME, and if I'm gone early I plan to do the SE 200 game on Sat.
