    Hi,

My partner and I are flying to Girona for 1 week in March with a 2 year old. Intend hiring a car and maybe visiting Barcelona for a day or two. Thinking of staying somewhere quiter outside of the city - don't mind being a 2 or 3 hour drive from Barcelona.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks,
    L

hi, i have stayed in calella a few times and on each occasion in the hotel Presidente . It is a lovely hotel spotless clean and very reasonable.
I have never driven in Spain but it is about 45 minutes on train from Barcelona airport.

Hi, we stayed in Estartit with the kids a couple of years ago. A tourist resort but not overly built up, on the coast north of Barcelona.

I thik it was about 45 mins drive from Girona Airport and perhaps 1.5 hours to Barcelons. I would go back. Some nice restaurants and bars but pretty quiet. Don't know what it would be like in March, we were tehre in July.
