The Apple Refurb Store?

    I was going to buy a macbook after macworld but while looking around the store I noticed that I could get a refurbished macbook pro for nearly the same price.

    Has anyone bought anything from Apple's refurb store and are the products reliable? Also, how long does it take for new products (eg, Core 2 Duo) to arrive in the refurb store?

    I know this does not directly answer your question, however there is nearly no speed difference between the Core Duo and the Core 2 Duo. A couple of percent, single digits.

    Also, pro software like Photoshop won't take advantage of 64 bit for years to come, as Adobe does not believe 64 bit provides any advantages yet.

    thanks. Will they come with iLife 07 in the new year? is, do they replace the software on the machines?

    i got a macbook off the refurb store at the start of december and had it in less than a week. wel happy with it. its the old type, ie not hte new core 2 duo but i saved nearly 200 euro and it hadnt a scratch on it. have bought off them previously and had no problems. they also have the old generation ipods and nanos with good discounts also
