NOLF2 - How do i get past the spikes using the lighting fixtures?

Im at the bit where you have to get through a room that has spikey yokes falling from the roof. If i simply try to run across the last 1 gets me as i cant run fast enough.

Apparently theres a way of doing it by doing something with the light fixtures in the room but ive turned the 1st 4 on and all its done is seems to have added anopther spike thing right over the entrance door. Anyone got any ideas how you do this. Thanks.

At the north end of the basement is The Trap. Simply put, there are two
ways to get across: wait for the spikes to rise and run around the side to
the other door, or use the light fixtures as mentioned in an intel item.
Either way, once you cross the trap and clear the vault, the spikes will
no longer fall.
