Need A Bit Of Advice Please

    Hey everyone.

At the moment I have that Lidl dish, LNB and receiver. I set it up a while ago and haven't had any problems what so ever. It is a great bit of kit.

Anyway, here is my question. If I replace the single LNB with a quad LNB, buy another satellite receiver and hook it all up. Does this mean that I will be able to watch two different stations in different rooms with just the one dish???

I think that is right but I just want to make sure. Can anyone recommend an LNB or does it make any difference and also a satellite receiver, e.g. are the Sky ones better than other ones.

Preferably want to do it as cheap as possible. Will what I suggested work properly?? Any other advice is welcome. :)

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, is the answer, Get a quad Lnb and you can have 4 sat boxes working from one dish.

Not familar with Lidl dish, Someone else here might help you one brand/type of Quad LNB to get.

Cheapest route is fta receiver, The kaon 220 is an excellent cheap FTA receiver if you are happy with channel choice that is fta on 28deg
    See:

I have 2 of these, they are excellent. Great tuner. Finds all the interactive streams automatically. If you can wait they are cheaper at Cheap-sat.com but currently out of stock, Eur49.00

A sky digibox has 7 day epg, and with correct card will give you access to Ch4,Ch5 etc. But if you dont need these stick with FTA Box(cHEAPER And you can arrange the channels in the order you want and delete the ones you dont want)

I only plan on using the receivers and dish for the 28.2 Astra satellite. I would prefer a non-sky box for the reasons you stated. I'm not too pushed about EPG as I have use that digi-guide programme. I kind of like the receiver I have at the moment. It is the Comag SL55. If anyone knows a reliable site that sells it that would be great.

Are the sites you mentioned reliable, safe and secure??? I don't really know much about satellite websites. Thanks a lot for you help.

Both sites i mentioned are fine. I have purchased from both. The cheapsat site has a system in place where you can pay by bank transfer, This can work out cheaper then credit card, They add an additional charge for credit cards. Your local Credit Union can transfer the funds to Germany at a cost of 75 cent. My goods arrived in about 8 days.

Can anyone recommend a quad LNB that I could get relatively cheaply?? I have no idea how much these usually cost.

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=98998&criteria=dish&doy=8m1
You local satellite specialist should have minidishes in stock. Maplin sell minidishes also although they have only one in stock at the moment.
Recently bought a quad lnb for minidish from www.satellite.ie works a treat.
