    1.40 Fontwell

    WALCOT LAD

One of my most anticipated horses to see this season, especially if he was going to be at Fontwell.

Loves Fontwell, and will relish the conditions.

    14/1

Fontwell 1.40 He's the Gaffer is an interesting selection in this race. It's 13 pounds better off than when it won two races ago, and the booking of AP is interesting also. Granted that this is a more competitive race, and it is untested on Soft ground I still expect it to go well. The other interesting choice is Walcot Lad, who was at a career high mark at the end of last season when finishing 2nd to Mr Boo by 13 lengths in a similarly competitive race. Up five pounds since that race it does have alot to do, but should also go close here. I'll be dutching both of these.

Fontwell 3.10 Pearly Star is an interesting contender here if it can reproduce the form it had when winning last time out by 4 lenghts. Only 2 pounds worse off thanks to this claimer, and to be honest he's the only dodgy thing about Pearly Star's chances today. However he did win for this trainer two rides ago so I'm of the opinion that he's useful enough.

    2:10 Fontwell

    Tisseman

Beat a horse that I think has some potential Bennett in his bumper and they pulled him out of numerous engagements between then and now. A very interesting runner today. (In the horses to follow thread also)

    Polinamix 13.30 Lingfield

Didnt come off the bit last time under AP and a reproduction of that run would make him very hard to beat in this.

    GL ALL.

Interesting to see Declan McDonagh makes the trip over to ride it, he's only 1 other ride which also looks like being in with a good chance.

Adrian McGuinnesss would want to start winning again, the amount of bull**** spoken in north county Dublin when he has a runner is getting beyond a joke at this stage.

Poor auld Miracle Ridge is out at it again today for him as well as the one mentioned above, that horse is getting on at this stage.

    Small double mightn't go astray.

Edited: MasterK beat me to mentioning Miracle Ridge...DARN!

Yeah saw "Aido's" 2 runners today, Id say the erra stands the better chance but judging by the prices of 100/30 & 4/1 you would have to back them both to win, unless you just go with the place bet on betfair, which might be the best shout.

Wouldnt believe the hype with his runners though, everytime they are going stories are rampant that good aul Aido said they will hack up :o

I liked the look of Schuh Shine today but just seen its a non-runner...grrrrr

Walcot Lad is 19/1 on Betfair!

You guys know somethign everyone else doesn't? He's the Gaffer is evens or thereabouts - how does that effect your dutching Sjones?

    Paddys are doing the following
    Ship Ahoy
If your horse finishes second to Swift Sailor in this race, we'll refund your losing win single stake.
so you can take a free punt on him too if you are confident :D

Those money back offers are a joke tbh

Maybe so Sizzler, will be interesting to see whether they run tomorrow or not,I suppose it all depends on how they go today.

Quite often trainers will enter horses in two races and run them in one, depending on whether a horse they didn't want to face is pulled out or not, going change, etc. Horses that are entered in races in quick succession like this are often done so to avoid the handicapper. Mark Prescott does this with alot of his 2 year olds.

See your point sj but McGuinness did run Erra Go On last year on the all weather on 2nd and 3rd of december at kempton and lingfield and he dissapointed both times, which may suggest a recovery mission this time round.;)

Not sure it would have won had 'Came Back' not got badly interfered with at the bend. Still its a bummer.

Yip looked like a "double carpet" shot to me too.

Walcot Lad was ridden well before the half way mark (closer to 1/3)had no pace looks a bit of a hound, looks as if the trainer sent him without any prep, badly needed that run, showed no signs for improvement.

AP pushed Gaffer all he could jus got up to place but was outgenned by 2/3 horses.
