Hi, occasionally when i start up my computer it completly freezes mouse pointer wont work, when i press the caps lock button the light wont turn on and even the clock freezes. The only way off fixing it is to remove the 220v socket. Now its starting to happen nearly everytime i turn it on and today the computer just switched its self off i thought my electricity was gone but it didnt it was definetly the computer.
I have windows xp its about 3 years old and i have a moderate knowledge of computers any help would much be appreciated.
    Thanking you in advance.

I'm no expert, so this may not work, or maybe you have already tried, but have you powered off and removed the CMOS battery (take it out for a few seconds).

And maybe try reseating your memory modules.

Both of these fixes have sorted out problems I had before.
