Is it worth getting HD with this TV?

Hi, I have a Hyundai A321 (the one Xtra-vision had on offer during the summer).

I'm thinking about getting HD, but I'm wondering if the TV good enough for it to be worth it.

    It's a 32inch, and accepts HDMI inputs 1080i, 720p or 576p.

Basically, is 1080i on a 32inch screen sitting about 6ft away going to look great, or will the detail be lost because of either the size or spec of the TV?

Here's a link with more info on the TV; http://www.aria.co.uk/ProductInfoComm.asp?ID=23300

    Thanks, Barry.

Its a personal decision. At 32 Inch i would buy a good scart lead. At Circa Eur70 mark. Something like below:
    http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/XHT801-150.html

Set your sky box to RGB OUTPUT and enjoy better pictures, Good enough for 32inch TV, Also saving yourself Eur15 per month plus cost of new Sky HD box.

I have Sky(Freesat) hooked up to 32 inch tv, excellent tv pictures, To 37inch Pretty Good pictures, But to My 46inch, HD comes into its own. I reckon anything above 40 inch you will notice big improvements with HD.

Quality difference between a 20 euro and 70 euro scart lead = absolutely nothing

Chance of gold plated contacts on 70 euro lead damaging the tin/nickel contacts on your TV as its not galvanically compatible = some.

    Don't waste your money.

I already have my Sky box outputting RGB through a high quality scart, and the SD picture I'm getting is grand, I'm happy with it.

I'm really just asking about the quality improvement of HD, as I havent seen it in action yet

as I said its a personal choice. I think its a waste of money at 32 inch. You will see little difference.

Visit your local tv retailer and have a look. Best if you can look at HD pictures on a 32 inch set, but more then likely the shops will be displaying on larger sets.

One big plus of HD over the standard Sky box is the DD surround sound. But you will only appreciate this if you have a good Home Cinema sound system.

you won't get 1080i on that tv anyway, even if you feed it a 1080i source, it'ss downscale it to your tv's native reolustion, which is closer to 720p
