    Hi Guys,
I took my sky box, lnb and sky card from my home in Ireland bought it over to the uk today to test to see if this will work in the flat.
The flat has a dish out side already and doesnt have any tall buildings in the way etc.

When i set up with system, i get no satellite signal received and when i go to check the signal strength nothing shows up.

I can confirm, the sky box, the card and the lnb are in perfect working order. Is there anything else that may be up with this.

I going to get a satellite compass to make sure alignment is ok, but before i do that could anything else be wrong.

    Thanks guys.

I'd guess the dish alignment is off or theres a problem with the cabling (more likely the former)

I'm sure some of the guys that do the installs will be along shortly tho to provide more ideas.. :)

One thing tho when you DO get it running.. I assume you'll have to make sure it's not connected to a phone line, lest it attempt to call home and Sky deactivate the card?

Good call on the phone line, i must tape up the phone connection in case someone does that!

The cable works, i made the cable my self and tested it at home first, good signal from the dish at home using that cable.

    Cheers.
