Can anyone enlighten me as to the structure of this weekens IPC main event/ side events and expected turnout please? Seriously considering forking out the ME buy in as cash games (esp online omaha) were in a very festive mood towards me this past month.

In fairness, the information listed above on the website is really clear and concise.

Lads, as i am trying to make the transition from cash to tournaments, i have no idea of numbers for the satelltes, say for the thursday night mega satellite with 10 tix guaranteed, what numbers would be expected roughly

If they are gauranteeing 10 tickets then one would have to assume that there will be at least 50 runners (300 x 5 = ticket // 20% of field qualify) as it is unlikely that Poker Events would knowingly flirt with an overlay.

For me, the numbers are not really important. 1 out of every five players will qualify and, if anything, the more runners the easier it will be to secure a place in the Main Event.

if I get a huge pay rise for working it then yeah sure but I think as we all already discovered that is highly unlikely to happen

The numbers for the Mega Satellites Thursday @ 8.00pm and Friday @ 12.00 noon will be much higher then 50 as there is huge interest in these. And we already have a number of qualifiers for the events.

Big interest i the noon sat on Fri eh? I may just play that then. Was not going to bother as i didnt think there would be enough degenerates around on a working day to make it worthwhile. Guess I was wrong.

There us somewhat more play on the Thursday night if you can make that, and I would imagine there will be a higher turnout for that one as poker players and 12 noon aren't that friendly. Friday is (necessarily) a crapshoot so if you are wanting to play for a ticket I would recommend Thursday out of the two games.

When Ste says more interest, it reads to me like he is talking about both those events against the 50 quoted, not just the Friday one.

We have changed the Friday Tournament back to 12pm start to allow more time for play. But the tournament must be over by 5.00pm - 5.30pm. As the IPC starts at 6.00pm.

    Hi dacman,

As you can appreciate its very difficult to estimate numbers for poker events

We are expecting about 300 for the IPC Main Event and about 150 for the €750 event on Saturday.

For further info on the weekend please see
    http://www.pokerevents.ie/IPC.asp

    This is my best estimate.

    Regards

    Stephen

    Hi empirix,

As regards the payout structure that will be the tournament directors decision. But at least 10 % will be paid.

Yes you can pay cash on the night on Thursday Registration will open about 18.00

    Stephen

    What time does day2 start?

I know day1 starts at 6pm but would it really be about 7pm or later?.
Anyone remember what time the schedueled start for the IPC was last year and what the actual start time was then?

It might be no harm to contact Stephen and see if he can give you a number to ring if you are running late.

On that topic though, Stephen is there a number people should ring if they are running late or will they be automatically seated anyhow even if they have not registered on the day and just blinded away? This obviously only applies to people who have qualified in advance etc.

Best of luck to all playing in this btw, I would have liked to give it a shot myself, but it was not to be.

Day 2 will start around 1 or 2pm I imagine, last year they started back at 1pm on day 2 and final table began at 2 on the sunday. Last year it kicked off 40 minutes, think it was same time, start time 6pm and actual start time 6:40pm if my memory serves me right.
