"Thomann The Plug Jack Angle Male"

for making simple connections between pedals, i understand u gota use some cable and what not but how awkward is it to get good connections and good shielding on them?

its all i can find.. since i cant get the george L ones local handy..

Also 1/4" stereo female>female adapters... does anywhere do them?

aslo 6 pin DNI couplers female>female...

yeah tis all for my custom pedalboard!

Is it just a right angle plug?

Can you solder? If you can't, forget about making your own. It's easy to solder but it's hard to get good solid connection when you're learning.

eh kinda, i had a little bita experience, but nothing to fancy, i cant find the george l ones which i wanted, waltons never have em even thought there ins tock on their site, But on their site the george L cable is not in stock and it is in the shop... but in the shop theres no jacks...

    damn place

+ its gonas cost like 90 euro for the george L ones as aposed to 16 for those tomann ones..

it's all to do witht he pedalboard and the fx order

    newerarangement.jpg

is that order ok??? i know its preference, but wana get the most from it..

Does it sound ok to you? And whats wrong with just normal right angle to right angle patch cables?

To be honest Al, that amount of independent effects wired into a board with semi-permanent cabling scares the bejesus outta me. I don't know if you plan on playing live, but that sort of thing is a disaster waiting to happen. If one pedal goes (not pointing at those plastic cased behringers in particular but you hear what I'm saying), you're ****ed trying to isolate the fault and remedy the situation in a high pressure environment. It'd just be so awkward to get cables out and test. If you're just going to doodle at home, then fair enough.

Cool huh? it was 3 behringer pedals for 60 so i got 3.. i only wanted the tube overdrive really...

alternativly, i cud sell all of em, get a g major and a midi floorboard and everyones having a great ol time...

BUT i do love using the effects like that, the pedaloabrd i use now is not reliable for the reasons u told... so im changing it for a more proper reliable board, so i can just keep the effects hooked up (in the best order possible) and good to go all the time

Musician recently had a Planet Waves solderless patch lead kit, gold-plated right-angle jacks, enough to make up (as far as I remember) 10, but don't quote me, for around €60...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭-=al=-

yeah 60 somethin, i was tihnkin about getin it too, but the angled jacks are a bit chunky aposed tot he george L's ones

    195366.jpg

    as aposed to

    gl7_graphic.gif

there pretty smaller and easy to wire the cable under the pedalboard, but cant seem to find em! =/

also anyone ever see a 6 pin DIN female > female coupler?

custom pedalboard's are a hassle to get bits for!

I bought one of those planet waves cable kits. Pretty cool. Just cut the wire and push the jack onto it. Tighten the screw and thats it!

What ever happened to velcro on a plank of wood and little patch leads... you kids and your technology...

i think i have ocd wen it comes to things like this, im very picky and particular about everything, especially wen it comes to my tone, jus was no wires no mess and a reliable setup!

im still gona get a bita wood and velcro :p

if i cant get the george L ones ill consider the PW ones, but i need like 16 jacks =/

More isnt better when it comes to effects. Als using some good guitars and a great amp, and plugging a bunch of sh1t behringers and an evil crybaby in between.

Its heresy if you ask me, but nobody did so i'll stay quiet ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭-=al=-

yeah its true, i jus managed to get a lot after whole im always looking for the perfect tone, =/

cant decide if i want te eq in the loop or not... i was messing around with arrangements there cleans are lovely, but jus trying to get nice overdrive and figure out, what settings for rhythm and lead... drivin me mad

I think that board could be majorly cut down... Ever try a Bad Monkey? Its better than a stock TS-9 apparently, also, id ditch the phase & flange and buy a small stone.

i like the chorus a lot, overdrive eq and compressor for the overdriven tones ps5 for harmonies and pitch shifting, tuner to tune... delay, well for delay... I hardly use the talkbox phaser and flange, but nice to know you can

only tihngk bothering me now is the eq... cant decide

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,706 ✭✭✭Voodu Child

Id ditch everything you can afford to do without tbh, especially the behringers. Would probably put the tuner first in the chain too, especially if youre using a long lead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,291 ✭✭✭-=al=-

well sorted it out yesterday and todaywitha ll sorts of configurations

    Ended up

    From guitar > Talkbox > wah > compressor > Overdrive > EQ > tuner

Fx Loop send > chorus > phaser > super shifter > delay

and i have the cleans set up nice, very EJ like, rhytm tones nice and good solid rhythm tones, less middle and a lil mroe treble/gain..

lead channels a few DB louder, with more mids less treble and the overdrive and Eq work great together for adding/taking away frequencies.. :)

now to actually make the pedalboard.......... the hard part.

Run your tuner on a stereo pedal output you're not using, like one from the Boss Super Chorus. Ie, don't output anything from the tuner, just run a spare input into it.
