    Depends on the UTI, most common antibiotics work unless you have abnormal structures in your kidneys or bladder - in which case it may be more limited.

    Also there may be a resistant organism present which may tailor therapy.

    Your GP will decide which one you need if you go to him/her.

    Commonly used antibiotics include:

    Trimethoprim (ipral)
    Nitrofurantoin
    Augmentin
    Ciprofloxacin (truoxin)
    Ofloxacin

    there are others.
