Scots Cup on BBC Scotland via DSat?

Just wondering will Scottish Cup highlights be available on BBC Scotland via DSat? Has a new deal been signed or will they be blanked out again on this platform as they were last season? If they will be blanked out when will this current deal expire?

A new contract with Sky Sports is in place for the Scottish Cup from this season, runs until 2009/10. They may have exclusively live coverage outside of Scotland.

I cant find where BBC Scotland's contract was renewed, but, their first live Scottish FA Cup match is on Wednesday 10th January, Aberdeen v Hibs. in Digiguide, its not specific that its not available on DSat, but going on what Sky Sports saying "which will be exclusively live outside of Scotland", I can only think that no live SFA Cup games on BBC Scotland will be shown on DSat.
As for highlights, I've no idea. I cant find any news on the BBC or SFA sites. if I do, I'll update.

Thanks for that DMC. There's Scottish Cup football this Saturday. Probably highlights that evening on tv. Must be patient till then and see whether they are on or not..........

Looking at the BBC's football page, it says that BBC One Scotland will show highlights on the 6th and 7th of January, but as you say DMC, there's no way of knowing if it will be blanked out on Dsat, like it was last year. Grrrrr....

More important news is Celtic's first leg with AC Milan in the chmpions league is fta on the Itv's Scottish region on digital satellite sky digital

BTW.... Sky showing up Setanta big time.... Scottish Cup match between Dunfermline and Rangers... in HD, pitch-side presentation and even in widescreen.

checking the epg guide for wednesday bbc 1 scotland has a live match and it does not say not available on digital satellite like it used to. so that could be a sign. also highlights on tonight at 11.15 no mention of it being blocked either.

Highlights programme was NOT blocked last night. Judging by the promo for the match on Wed. at the end of the programme. I would not expect the live match to be blocked on Wednesday. Fingers crosses!

Yes. Scottish Cup highlights were FTA on BBC 1 Scotland on Saturday night. A new deal for these highlights may have been signed since last year to allow this?

As mentioned above it will be interesting to see if the live Aberdeen v hibs tie will be available on Wednesday evening.

Was out last night. Sorry, didn't get to find out! Does anybody know if the Aberdeen v Hibs Scots Cup tie was live FTA on BBC 1 Scotland last night or was it blocked as it was meant to be on Sky Sports as well?

Yes it was on Sky digital but you can be assured if Celtic reach the Scottish FA Cup Final this season, the final won't be live on digital satellite like other years as Sky paid the big bucks for the total UK rights but strange things have happened it could be on which would be a miracle

no if it was fta last night then the final would also be free on satelite. The difference being that it would only be on bbc scotland and not bbc england. so the rest of the uk would have to watch it on sky if they did not have digital satelite and knew how to tune it in via other channels.

It was on last night fta(aberdeen/hibs), But sky didnt show any scottish football last night so the final could be blocked like last year
