have to restart pc for internet

Hi im having problems with my pc. When it is left idle for a time when i return i have to restart my pc to get the internet working again. This is driving me nuts. I am using windows xp media with a dell E520 and using IE7. I am running 2 pc's in the house with a router and its only happening to mine. Any advice? thanks
