I'm thinking of getting a Blackberry Pearl. I'm already on Vodafone but
as a private user. Does anyone have any experience using
either the Vodafone or O2 packages for Blackberry as a sme?

    Any recommendations welcome!

Unless you buy sim free you don't have a choice as O2 are the only network carrying the pearl.
The blackberry package costs pretty much the same on both networks

I have just ordered 1 online from O2

You'll need to confirm with Vodafone that they'll support the GPRS it, AFAIK RIM pack a fair amount of setting's for different networks so you may be ok but from experience it'd be far easier to buy it from O2 as they curently sell and support the unit.

Also bear in mind that with number portablity you can transfer your full number between networks. Just make sure you are out of contract with Vodafone, otherwise you may get a hefty final bill.

O2 clearly offers better value for the Blackberry. €20 a month for unlimited data (internet, wap and blackberry push email use).

I think in total for the O2 Blackberry account the minimum is €50 a month.
But yeah in general you're right O2 does seem to be the best on paper.

Only if you buy online, if you buy it in a shop you can get it for €20 a month, without any included minutes.

Was just doing a quick search on the BlackBerry Pearl and saw this thread. My company is with Vodafone and I'm getting the new Pearl next week hopefully.

Vodafone also charges only €20 for their BlackBerry service and I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever.
