Tribeca Challengers.... Skip the 25-50c level?

Just wondering if there is any point in playing the 25-50c level since the buy in is the same as 50/1 ? Or would the swings be to great to jump from 10/20c to 50/1 ?

Bet sizing and pot size will be bigger at 50/1 so variance will be bigger. What's your bankroll in terms of buy-ins? 20+ and you should be ok as long as you're happy to move back down if it all goes wonky.

personally I'm looking forward to .25/.50 as I like playing as deep as possible, I wish all levels allowed you to buy in for 200 BBs

what BR do you anticipate jumping to .50/1 at?

I was going to jump to .25/.50 when i had $1500 as I thought the max buy in was $80. Looking at the tables now it seems most seats are occupied by people sitting with under $100, might switch plan and jump early and sit under-funded with $60

Glad to see you're moving up Simo. 2000BB is plenty for .25/.50

You could start off by sitting down with $50 and top-up to the max when you become comfortable or when you're up against fish with big tanks.

Edit: To answer your question, skipping levels is not such a hot idea. Also, each level acts as a natural goal i.e. move up when you amass 2000BB for the next level

personally i think playing at .25/.50 on tribeca is a waste of time. 80% at least of the buyins are between $10 and $30.. i rarely see players buying in at the max.

.25/.50 on Tribeca is horrific. The game selection is difficult as well as it's hard to find players with full tanks.

I dont think there's many noticable difference in standard between the .25/.50 and .50/1 levels. The one thing I did notice at .50/1 over the Christmas period is there are lots of 3/4 tabling uber rocks playing at .50/1 who are making good money grinding it out. There's maybe 5 of these at .25/.50.

I started a new challenge and goal, about 3 weeks ago in terms of grinding my ways up the levels, from $0.50/$1 and hopefully advance to $2/$4nl in a few months time, as i've had plenty of experience previously at $2/$4nl and know whats it all about.

So haven't go much time to play Tribeca over the last 3 weeks unfortunately with the Christmas period, but in the 47 hours I've squeezed in, over the last 3 weeks, have been quite profitable enough in my opinion, or at least I think so, considering i've taken quite a lot of bad beats over quite a few sessions.

yeah, there's about 2 players I've played with at 25/50 that I might think about avoiding (outta about 1500+ so far!).

I didn't realise the buy-in was the same for .5/1, I think I'll still wait til I've 2000bbs tho. I'm kinda finding it hard to accumulate many chips at this level, mainly due to all the shortstacks, one night I remember I busted at least 15 players, and still made f all.

The 0.25/0.5 on Tribeca is very poor in fairness, I would not consider myself a good cash payer but I have had not many losing sessions at this level.
I would be one of those players that buys in everytime for $30 at this level and play 3 tables, but I would say about 40% of players buy in for the minimum. These are mostly the worst players there is so you will not win.
I would recommend that you play this level as it is really easy to make money from it in my opinon. I have only played a few sessions at 0.5/1 and I felt I was out of my comfort zone to be honest but that is just me.

Is that quite high, or quite low or what? I only play 6 max, by the way.

That's extremely loose preflop. Mine over my last 10k hands has been around 24. My lifetime VPIP is still around 30 but coming down steadily. There aren't too many winning players with VPIP that high.

Checked my old account and mine is 43..(11k hands)
Checked my new account (where I'm playing much tighter). 1.5k hands and it is 43:)

    At least I am consistent.;)

That's horrific. You must be bleeding money left right and centre.

I couldnt leave the tables last night as the money was being handed out. One guy check raised me all in on the river with ace high when I had quads. Lol.

I'm not sure on what the stats should look like for full ring, but it looks like you're playing way too loose from UTG.

Here are my stats from the past week. I guess I'd be labelled "standard tag"

I just couldnt take any players at that level seriously...

You are much tighter all round. Are you multi tabling for these figs?

At least 2 tabling. Sometimes 3. Depends on my mood really. My figures aren't overly tight. They're standard tag really.
