I have a analougue and dvb-t tv card. i pick up all analouge channels fine provided by ntl here in Galway. Is there anyway of picking up any of the digital channels? I have no idea of the frequencys that the ntl digital box uses?

As far as I can detect rte 1&2, tv 3, TG4, tmf are clear as I have a ntl box that has no card and they clear.

Any light shed on this question would be appreciated.

That DVB-T card is of no use to you in Galway. Maybe if you were further east, you might have some chance [see threads in the Terrestrial forum regarding DTT tests].

You can only watch NTL's digital line-up using NTL's equipment. To watch NTL's digital channels on a PC/Dreambox/whatever using a DVB-C card, you'd need the same CAM used in your NTL decoder. This is getting into shady terroritory no more than people using Dragon CAMs and the like to watch Sky on non-Sky digiboxes.

No, basically, no digital channels apart from your NTL! Try a DVB-S [satellite] card. More channels on more satellites than you can shake a stick at, including lots of English language ones.

They might be soft encrypted. Anyway T&C forbid using other than NTL box. The Cable digital does not work with a DTT/DVB-t anymore than a Satellite Dish will

Indeed, you are not allowed (as per the T & Cs) use anything other than an NTL box to view the service. If you really do want to watch NTL Digital on your PC, and you have subscribed to same, one way to do so is to use the box with an analogue TV card. If your box has no RF-out, you can rig the box's SCART-out to a VCR's SCART-in and rig the RF-out on the VCR to the (analogue) TV card's RF-in. This is within the Terms of Service, although I doubt many people do it!
