    http://www.thomann.de/ie/search_dir_BF_yamaha.html?gf=4_string_lefthanded_b asses&sw=Yamaha+Bass+guitar+%2Blefthand

(on that page click "4 string lefthanded basses" on the far right for the page...)

    or this ibanez...

You broke the first link, Al, so no idea what's going on there....but for that price, both are probably good enough, pick the looks you like.

As far as the PODxt goes, stuff like reverb, delay, and compression will probably work fine for the bass, but stuff like distortions, modulators, and octaves/tone shifters will sound crappy or not work well at all.

At least that's the way it is with my ME-50 when I use it for recording bass.

Out of all those, knowing that I was buying an intro-quality bass (as opposed to "beginner" quality), I'd probably buy the Ibanez because of the dual pickups. More tonal options.

Looks-wise I like the Yamaha 260's, but I can't wrap my mind around left-handed guitars. They look all warped and twisted and stuff. :p

It's no wonder the Latin word for 'right' is 'dexter' (from which we get dextrous and dexterity) and the word for 'left' is 'sinister' (meaning evil, of course). :p

    just kidding, man.

The Yamaha 614 looks like it will give you the most options there, dual pickups and three way EQ.

I stand corrected. Didn't notice the P-J setup with the bridge pickup.

You'd think actually *reading* the blurbs would have cleared that up.
