Is there a German word for "disappointment"?

    Could a native German speaker tell me if there is a word for "disappointment" in the German language....I've heard that there isn't and it's important for some research I am doing.

    Any help would be really appreciated

    Don't know who told you this, i would say (s)he wanted to make a joke or hasn't the slightest idea what (s)he was talking about.
    The word you are searching for is "(die) Enttäuschung".
