Same here. I was searching the avforums.com and apparently in the UK, Currys and Dixons are selling the box for 149 pounds ("instead" of the standard price of 299GBP). If the price came down to 300 Euros, I might get the HD buut at the current price, I will just wait like most of us!

Electroplus are offering HD for 300 euro, I got it installed the friday before Christmas. Give them a ring, there is an offer on.

I am also thinking of getting Sky HD and was in DID Yesterday and asked about it, the Guy gave Me a price of €374 installed and €299 if You take multiroom which is an additional €15 a Month.

Is this as good a deal as can be expected or should we wait..?

I just ordered through this link

    https://survey.sky.com/radiopromo/Default.asp

€299 installed, Waiting for confirmation now

On this offer the Sky HD Box is Half price...:D

Very tempting! Is that 299 deal for a new subscription/installation? Or does having an existing membership, dish in place etc makes any difference to them?

Do you get the 3 months half price, or is that gone for new customers.

I think that offer is gone but You get the HD Box Half Price(€224 Off) which I think is a better deal anyway, or You can opt for Sky+ Box Free.

Although the T&C on this offer says it expires 31/12/06, I rang Sky Today and they said if they accepted My order online then that is what I will pay?

I didn't notice the Exp date ontill after I placed the order, I hope they honour it since there online system quoted special offer prices Today..

No Email confirmation as of Yet..

The Present Sky HD is a rip off of only programmes on channels which you can watch through the licence fee on the Irish DTT pilot scheme, when the bbc, itv, channel 4 etc have a good selection of HD FTA channels then everyone can make a much better choice

The BBC HD is a trial with about 3 programs per night. There is no HD planned for Irish DTT (no space for it).

HD is not presently for BBC1, BBC2, UTV, ITV2, ITV3, etc..

Some Sky1, Some Sky Sports, Discovery , Nat Geo, Sky Movies is HD, none of these are free channels anywhere, even in SD.

Was walking in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre today and spotted the Sky counter. Anyway, went up and asked the girl about special offers and she told me that the special offer that they were doing during the Xmas period had ended but in 2 weeks they were slashing the price of Sky HD in half so there we go!

slashing it from subscription from 15 euro to 7.50 ? or the setup costs?

    Guess we'll wait and see.

I called to my local Electrical Shop, (An Expert shop)offered it to me for E299.00. (Advise from a friend who works for sky) Im told ALL shops will do it, Currys was specifically mentioned.
    The Deal is a follows:

New subscribers go in and subscribe.
Existing subscribers go in with account details: The box is still Eur449.00 but you pay Eur299 and the shop claims a credit from Sky with your account details. I believe it will be advertised more in coming weeks...

Edit: I couldnt take up the offer as i have a NI Subscription so could not give my local shop my account details. If any NI Retailer here i would gladly buy from you!!!
