I played a couple of 5c/10c cash games tonight for a change from STTs and in one I hold A8s on the button. One limper ahead of me and I bet 3BBs. Blinds fold and limper calls. Flop is 10-A-A. Check, check. Turn K. He checks I bet half the pot. He raises. At this point I'm putting him on a slow played (?) AT. But the lunatic in me puts him all in and (of course) he calls and turns over Ace Ten.

Next game I look down at 88 in the CO and after 3 limpers I make it 5 BBs.
Button calls, BB calls, and the limpers fold. Flop is 998. Check to me I put in a half pot bet. Button calls, BB folds. Turn A. I bet half the pot, he min raises, I type "Ace-9?" in the chat box and I shove. He calls and shows - what else??? but A9.

Last thing I read in the chat was .... "Nice read stupid"

Shag this lark, I'm going to play a sit 'n' go. One of Full Tilt's super duper 45 player ones.

About 15 hands in this happens (I've removed the players who fold from the HH .. I was one off the CO)

    Dealt to TonyIE40 [Qc 7c]
    ajaxontilt calls 50
    TonyIE40 calls 50
    CrazyKet (BB) raises to 100
    ajaxontilt calls 50
    TonyIE40 calls 50
    *** FLOP *** [5h 5c 7s]
    ajaxontilt checks
    TonyIE40 bets 250
    CrazyKet folds
    ajaxontilt calls 250

Sharkscope says this - ajaxontilt 122 games Av. Profit-$1 Av. Stake $5 ROI -5% Profit-$80 Last 8 games LLLWLLLL

    *** TURN *** [5h 5c 7s] [Qs]
    ajaxontilt bets 750

Jesus ... not Ace 5 ... I was smart enough not to type it this time :)

Didn't stop me doing this though.

TonyIE40 raises to 1,485, and is all in
ajaxontilt calls 735, and is all in
    TonyIE40 shows [Qc 7c]
    ajaxontilt shows [Ad 5s]
    *** RIVER *** [5h 5c 7s Qs] [Ac]
TonyIE40 shows two pair, Queens and Sevens
ajaxontilt shows a full house, Fives full of Aces
ajaxontilt wins the pot (3,845) with a full house, Fives full of Aces
TonyIE40 stands up ... and smacks the computer

Looks like my reading abilities are getting much better.
    What a shame I can't believe myself.

So why is it that when we make a good read, and know in our hearts that we're beaten, that we donkey it all in anyway?

... and why is that fellah following me around from table to table ... ???

Oh ... and Happy New Year everyone

Its a killer. I get a perverse buzz when someone shows me a winning hand I was completly not expecting. Its so terrible when you "know" what someone has and you have to call to prove yourself right. Someone once told me its like letting your daughter date someone you believe to be a murderer/rapist and patting yourself on the back when she turns up murdered and raped. A slightly unusual analogy I know

    imho
dont play this hand if you cant put it down when you run into and recognise trouble.

flat call is good here no need to inflate pot just yet with a hand this weak. See a cheap flop with these type hands. You will often get at least one and often more callers at this level and need to hit your set to win usually.

No point paying attention and making good reads if you dont act on them !:(

People notice play's and weak holdings as above hence they are following you

    those are my observations fwiw:)
