Both cards above are the same, so both will work.
The Wii plays MotionJPEG's (Or MPEG if you like). Use this, its a simple and free converter specifically for the Wii.

You're better off saving your money for another Wiimote or whatever... the Wii's multimedia capabilities are fairly lacking. (I ordered an SD card for mine but ended up giving it away as I couldn't forsee myself ever actually using it...)

Tman try that media center it works :)

Makes media stuff fairly handy, just the opera browser letting it down.

I bought the aldi 2gb sd card.

I put it into my wii and is showed up so i thought ok i'll put some movies on it.

Connected it to a mem card reader and put it in my pc and it said the card needed formating before use.

I said ok and then a message on screen said could not format this card, and then when i put it back in the wii it would not be seen at all.

I tried it in a mac to see if it saw the card but it couldnt see it anywhere.

Anyone else got problems like that ?

Thats a bummer. Just to say is there a lock switch on the sd card? that you might have turned on by accident when moving it from one to the other?

I used my SD card in it. Had a tone of pictures on it. well actually manga scans :P It would pick up all the pictures and show them in thumbnail formate but when id goto select one it would vanish and show an error saying format not recognized?? yet i could see the preview before i selected it :S

Oh well I still have the reciept, so I'll get it replaced tommorow.

I'm wondering is there some problem with Fat16 as windows or mac disk utility doesnt even give the option for the 2gb SD cards, whereas it does on usb mem sticks.

I think that's what causing it to balls up. The computers try to format it as Fat32 rather than Fat16 and it screws up the memory card.

But only if I assume it hasnt been formated in say a camera first.

And its fecking annoying that the Wii doesnt allow you to format the SD card. Why not ? Another stupidly missed option....
