Alot of people will be familar with Special Days in liffey valley they do a decent range of poker suppies. stock varies but i have seen top quaility cards and and chips in there on occasion,

anyway I just got a text message that said they are having closing down sale. I dont know if this is a legit closing down sale or just a gimmick, but i know the poker tables are half price. ill probably have a look and report back with prices on various items.

I often go down for a break to Liffey Valley and stay in the Clarion Hotel, quire area down there, you have the Zoo nightclub across the way which is a top notch spot, and then the shopping centre is down the road and is a fair size.

Been in Special Days a few times and bought a few sets of chips and bucketload of "decks of cards etc." ...they do a fair bit of poker related items, definetly worth having a look at :)

dropped in when collecting gf from liffey valley, shop is closing down and its focusing on the internet for sales.
Theres lots of random crap that might suit all sorts, golf, games, jigsaw etc,
And the poker stuff is 30% off . Prices below are after reduction, and to my best recollection.

    Decks : Hoyle, Bee & WPT. A few euros a deck, €2.50-€3
Theres a Bicycle set for €7. Two bicycle decks in a zip up case.

Chips : Good quaility chips in cases and sold in rolls of 100.

Tables: The two tables on the top of this page. http://www.specialdays.ie/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=3
So the big one with legs will be €140 and the smaller table top €42 (might be €30)

Misc: Card shoes and chip racks. No prices sorry.

No don't think so.....I was talking to Peter, the owner, the other week and he said they're moving all of their business online so it definitely is a legit closing down sale and they have loads of quality stuff.

Hickey's Pharmacy will be in their space by next month.

They're is a store in The Square. They have had a closing down sale for about a year now.

Yep - we're out of retail. Our rent went from €141,000 to €332,000 last year - I'd rather not work for a landlord. As for the Square - I kick myself everyday for taking that shop on!.

Square (clearance store - no poker left) closes next Sunday. Liffey Valley - Poker table tops some 11.5g chips and a few playing cards left. - Closes 22nd Jan.

Internet store (separate entity) has the standard stuff and will have lots of new stuff from late Feb along with prices lowered by about 20% (don't have €332k rent to pay anymore) New showroom for tournament guys (& others if they wish) will be open in Athy Co. Kildare in Feb.

May even have KEM for tenner a deck!!!

Thanks for the support during the past 3 years.

€332K is a *bit* more than double the original rent...*

Crazy increase in the rent though, the closing down is understandable (particularly the Square store!). Good luck with it.

    Sorry, couldn't resist!

135% increase to be preciase - They tried €382k at first and it was dropped by arbitration to "ONLY" €332k!

The new webstore prices have been updated for Poker. Other non poker products will have prices reduced over the coming weeks and some real cool product will be added gradually over the coming year - mostly from USA with USA prices!

are there Kem or Copaq decks in the liffey store sale?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,493 ✭✭✭mcaul

Sorry both KEM & Copag are unavailable at present. COPAG is expected back in stock 3rd week Jan and KEM at end of Jan early Feb.

Price for Copag will be approx. €8 per deck and 12 decks for €79 whilst I amhoping to be able to offer KEM for €10 per deck if the yanks will cut a deal for me.
