Right, laptop keeps hanging on post operation which isnt very good. I assume this is hardware related :/.

Last bios flash was like a month or so ago, and its been working fine until just this second. Right before this problem I was messing around in fstab trying to allow users on Linux to mount the CDRom. Went for reboot, left room, came back and its hung on the Dell screen, and now I cant get past the post.

Is there anyway of getting a more verbose display of the post, as a big Dell logo and progress bar doesnt really help me figure out whats going wrong.

Solved, feel a bit silly now, I just got scared of the idea of my laptop destroying more hardware due too heat.

Turns out POST didnt like my Ipod being plugged into my Notepal cooler pad, which in turn is plugged into the laptop through USB.

Anyway, anyone know how to get a verbose post screen instead of the branded one?
