Only a week left of holidays. Trying to do a College assignment. Ah I don't want it all to start back up again? Anybody else feeling the same?

Strangely enough no. I don't go to lectures really (they just dont work for me), I have a full set of notes already (thanks to a recently graduated friend of mine who's easily bribed with red wine). So I get up when I want and do the work and study in a subject I love at a time that suits me.

What I'm not looking forward to is my final year project report deadline of jan 8th however. That will require some anxiety ridden binge work... So I feel your pain in that regard anyway.

Now I totally agree with this, certainly where English lectures are concerned anyway. I also think that this should not be the case.

Well if it's anywhere near as assignemt-heavy as Michaelmas term was (4th year comp/elec engineering), then no I am definitely not looking forward to it.

I mean, I have to do my bloody project on top of whatever course-projects and assignments I'm given plus we have more lecture hours; madness.

I can't wait because I'll be starting my research properly! Plus I should get an article finished and sent off for publication by the end of January :D

Although, I do have a bollocks essay due for a course on tutoring I took. :(

Dunno about elec but the comp eng courses i took in 4th year all eased off entirely with assignments to allow people work on their projects...

I'll miss the late nights and late mornings, but I'm very happy to be going back.

Personally I'll be quite happy to be back. Holidays have gotten a bit boring at this stage and Christmas was a bit meh.

  • I'm looking forward to going back. I'm sure I won't feel so positive when term starts though.

I really hope the timetable for the train is updated a bit. I mean wtf is the story with having no trains north between 1:15 and 3:45. It's such a bitch on Mondays and Thursdays.

Actually when are term, lectures etc. starting? I really haven't the slightest...

Ah, it should be grand heading back to college. I'm looking forward to it, anyway. We'll see how we all feel when term starts, I guess.

Looking forward to getting back to the campus, going for a wander around.
Not looking forward to the hillary term timetable, and going back to work.

DCU doesn't go back til February. It'd be ok if there was loads of stuff to do, but there's only a dissertation proposal. Plus it's going to be all new courses so you can't even revise stuff. Bit ridiculous.

Oh lord, I have so much work to do, So much I shouldn't be prancing on boards.

I'm reading loads of books. Loads. If I finish them all then I'll be very impressed with myself. Museums could be good though. Especially given my precarious financial situation.

Yeah I could do a Secret History/Rules of Attraction-style book about Trinity and write about the debauched side of college, with really obvious aliases for everyone and outing all the best places to have sex. With a relevant and intriguing commentary on the social mores and practices of the college-going community, naturellement.

I'd buy that. It would be quite funny, I'd say.

If you're doing a Secret History-style plot, make sure to use SF Russian in place of the Classics/Greek students. Trust me on that.

Not funny. Accurate, disturbing, revelatory and occasionally sexy maybe, but not funny.

Yeah somehow Social Policy wouldn't create the same air of timeless knowledge of all things that classical studies does. But Russian? Really?
