    Hi,
What are the avantages of using Rock Wool insulation over Glass wool(or is there any)? There doesn't seem to much in the difference in terms of U value.
    Thanks

Rock wool has fire resistant properties and thats why its used as a fire stop above party walls etc.
Both come in a range of u-values and the best i've seen was a glass wool product from Moy, (not their standard stuff, plus or something)

It's difficult getting performance data on most fibrous insulations - I don't think the Moy 'super' material has an agrement certificate to confirm performance - have a look a the agrement boarfd webg site for insulation materials http://www.irishagrementboard.com

    Thanks Guys.
Do you think that rock wool would have a higher decrement delay than glass wool?
