    Hi

I borrowed a Dyson there a while back and have to say they are savage. Now i want one :p. Thing is the prices seem to vary greatly depending on where you look. I've checked the Dyson site and the retailers on there but their RRP id 449 and i've been getting different quotes 360-450{Hepa} for the DC11.

I see pixmania have the standard DC11 for 286.

    What i want is either:
DC11 (HEPA or non HEPA) OR DC08 tele wrap HEPA

Any Ideas where would be good?

    I bought mine on Ebay.
There are a couple of UK based companies that sell refurb Dysons for very good prices and there are always a few new ones going....

I got my DCO8 Telescope Carpetpro+Allergy in Brown Thomas of all places last year during the sale! They had 10% off and gave me loads of accessories for nothin!!

Otherwise check out that Home place in the Airside Industrial Estate, I got the car kit in there for €30 rather then the €70 everywhere else!

Stay away from the Argos ones!

How much did your DC08 cost in the end?

standard dyson from Harvey Norman for €200, did them on the price promise as a local shop had them for €220 (a pricing error methinks, argos next door was 269 iirc), they then said 210, I then asked them to do it for 200 as I had done the research for them, they obliged. :)

Why bother doing a price promise. I always give the business to the shop that marked the price cheaper to start with. No point giving the business to the guys ripping people off.

I bought a DC08 last year. In Airside there's a Harvey Norman, DID & Homestore all within 200m of each other so it's easy to shop around. At the time Homestore were the cheapest (by about 30 euro on the other two shops).

    Totally agree with you.

    and another thing...

How much faith can you put in a store that, in its adverts, proclaim how confident they are in their low low prices, yet only offers to match a lower price. I think they should be offering double the difference back to 'overcharged' customers.

Was shopping around, last shop was harvey norman, saw the price promise and got it cheaper than the other shop (they will beat, not match any other price. )

Hence, was €20 cheaper than the other shop. Plus saved me on petrol, parking etc in going back to the other shop.

ETA, had already tried to get a discount from the other shop, they wouldn't budge, dont like that meself, always room to move imo.

I got a DC07 in B&Q on the Belgard Road for €269 today. It was €365 in the home interiors shop in the same complex!

    And, yes, it's savage.

I'm either thinking of the DC11 online for €286 + 24 del OR the DC08 Animal from power city for €315. Which one would ye recommend?

By the way, that Cylinder DC08 in Argos seems to be an end of line, as I cannot see that particular DC08 on the Dyson webpage (and the colours on that model are fairly ugly in my opinion - even if it is only a vacuum cleaner).

Stuff from Argos is not always what it seems, I tend to stay away from there unless I know exactly the brand and model number.

    Happy hoovering.
