I imagine its the same reason anyone makes mods for games, or infact the reason anyone has a hobby. They enjoy it.

Nope. I always preferred the 2D gameplay of Link to the Past over the 3D incarnations.

Love the 2D and 3D games. Looks interesting, but I get this weird feeling that a re "cease and desist" may come along.
But then again if they just call it the legend of something else and change Link's clothes or something...

The words of the ignorant. Just because it's 2D doesn't mean it's crap. I'd rather LttP over OoT and Minish Cap was one of the best games I've played in a long time. In the same way I prefer Super Metroid over the Prime games and Castlevania Symphony of the Night over any of the 3D games. For me the 2D zelda gameplay is perfect unlike the 3D games were there are still problems that need to be ironed out.

Looking at it again I think I would actually play this instead of TP if it were released tomorrow. Praying he gets to finish it.
