I am considering applying for jobs in the UK, maybe London. I work in IT.

I need advices in 2 areas:

    - what are the best sites for IT jobs ?

    - interviews:
What is the best way to do in terms of interviews ? Obviously dissapearing from work 1 day every other week will raise suspicions.

Also most of good jobs are advertised through agencies, and they normally give you 20 phone calls only to find out that the job was not real, or did not really matches what you are looking for, etc ?
I will not be able to handle this level of communications durring business hours without raising suspicions, etc...
Shall I take some time off ? What do people do in this situation ?

    Thanks in advance.

    I find jobserve.co.uk generally the best. There's also cwjobs.co.uk.

If you think Irish agencies are bad, you have the totally muppetry of UK agencies ahead of you. Beware and be very suspicious when dealing with them.

Depending on the job type or level, you'll probably be doing 'phone interviews, which can be generally terrible and require a different approach to regular interviews (a lot of communication is non-verbal).

    Best of luck!

If you are considering London their are a lot of large companies operating there. They will usually have jobs posted on their website in a variety of positions.

What sort of area are you going into? How many years exp? Any work done in a bank ?
