Ricky Gervais Meets...

Did anyone see these over the Christmas? The first one with Christopher Guest I switched off in disgust halfway through ('You're great; No, you're great; No you're great; No you are...')
But the Garry Shandling one had me gobsmacked. Did they really get on each others nerves that much or was it another 'postmodern' joke?
At one point Shandling accused Gervais of enjoying his racist gags too much (in particular the Extras episode where he's dressed as a Nazi). Later on he stood up as if he was gonna walk out of the interview but then changed his mind and got a coffee instead.
He certainly did not look impressed when Gervais told him he resembled a puppet character off some TV show.
Did any else see it? Was the hostility real, or did I just fall for it?

I reckon it could have just been a deliberatly improvised joke between the two of them. After all both of them are famed for mockumentary style TV. Consider it all as just a reverse Larry Sanders ep.

In fairness he does tho. :)

Who knows? I'm hoping it was just a gag. It'd be a lot funnier if it does turn out to be that way and a lot of people get conned by it.

it was very strange, and awkard to watch, I think it was a bit of both, humour and despisement, it was very handy for Gary to accuse Ricky of enjoying the cruel/crude humour too much and make a joke out of it,.
