    Hi Folks
I need some advice or pointers please

Recently my sky digital picture has started to get a bit wavy and lines running through some of the picture.
When i power off the sky , i can see a channel that appears to be coming through in the background .
I have tried to re-tune sky but no matter how many times i do it, after powering off the sky, i can still see the other channel (think its tg4 )
This may sound mad but early in the morning its worse than the evenings

Anyone any clues on the problem or how to rectify it

    Cheers

You're obviously using RF then, and not Scart?

Go to the Installer Menu on your Sky Digibox (Services, 4, 0, 1, Select will bring you to Installer Menu) and change the RF Output to a different channel and retune TV.

Ideally, you should use a Scart cable for better picture, and stereo sound.

    Cheers byte for the reply

When i select services and option 1 (picture settings) , i have the following options..going on your advice what do i need to change ?
I cant seem to locate it ?

    Thanks again

No... the key is the Installer menu is hidden.

Press the buttons as described by Byte, dont follow what happens on the screen.

I would guess the RF output is on 68, I'd choose a channel where there is no interference.
What part of the country are you in?

Yup, it's a secret menu as such. Services, 4, 0, 1 brings you to Installer Menu.

From there choose option 4 RF Outlets

In there using the number keys change the RF output, and then Save New Settings. You'll then need to retune TV.

Is there any reason as to why you're not using Scart?

Thanks again for the replies, the interference only happens now and again and mostly early in the days (mad as that may sound )
I am in Drogheda, next door neighbour never has the problem
I aint the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to linking up tvs/dvd/players to ensure optimum enjoyment from the system so any pointers or better still step by step instructions would be appreciated .

    cheers

A scart lead direct from the TV to the Sky box is the best option here. Any TV shop will have one, but don't pay more than €10 for one. Argos have ones for €7. Pressing the AV button on your TV report will display the Sky box.

If you want to continue with the way you currently have it, follow what Byte said earlier. As you are in Drogheda, I'd say choose 45 for the RF Outlet setting.

Now, what you have to do next is retune your TV to channel 45, consult you TV manual to find out how that goes.

    Ok guys me again
I got to the "hidden " menu , what i have on screen is RF Channel Number =23
When i change it to 45 and try to save the new setting..it powers off before i can save it .

What do i need to do in this case ?

Sorry for what may sound like crazy question !!!!
    Cheers

Does the box itself power off or does the picture just go? If box still has a green light on the front, press the green down arrow button twice, and press select.

Now tune in your TV to channel 45, as per your manual, and see if you have it set up correctly.

Followed the above instructions, all i have now is an extremely wavey sky reception (hardly visible ) and when i power off the sky i get bbc 2 coming through behind clear as a bell
Can anyone help me get it back to normal ..i am sinking fast

    thank you

OK, What you can do now, you know how to tune in your TV, try looking for channels that are crystal clear of interference. 45 obviously isn't. Dunno where you are getting BBC 2 on channel 45...
