    Hello everybody!

    (*Hi Q_Ball*)

I've been looking into getting skyHD due to a recent purchase of a HDTV. I also want to get multiroom but i have a question I'm hoping can be answered.

How does the SkyHD service work with standard def tv's? I know you cant get HD channels on it but can the second tv still access the sky+ programs etc. What kind of cable would be needed to connect the tv to the multiroom box and what cables come with it (for the HDTV etc)?

Was tempted to go with ntl digital but i'd prefer SkyHD if possible

The HD box will work with any tv, it comes with a HDMI cable to connect to your HDTV.

you will need a second box amd subscription (15 per month) for multiroom.

any tv, as long as it has a hdmi socket, otherwise scart.

so the hdtv can use the hdmi and the standard def can use a scart on the second box to get sky+?

You wont be able to access Sky+ recordings from another Sky box. I suppose you could try one of them Wireless video senders, but you couldn't watch two programs at once, which defeats the purpose of multiroom.

Can anyone tell me the correct price for a HD sub. At the momnet i've got the sky world package (sports + movies) with a sky plus box and multiroom. I am paying €81 euro a month for this. If i buy the HD box for €359 do i still have to pay the €15 HD sub on top of the €81 i am paying at the momnet

Apart from the free BBC HD test, am I right in thinking that it is actually possible to subscribe to Sky and SkyHD and not recieve any HD channels, e.g two mix takinh Kids and Music?

People complain about multiroom being a rip off but I think HD is worse, if you have Sky world, I think the HD fee should be waived.

I agree or at least if you already have multiroom they should waive it.

I have Sky world, multiroom adn purchase box office about once a week. I know if I asked the rents to shell out another €15pm for a HD service which only offers a small amount of HD channels they would tell where to go.

what cables come with it (for the HDTV etc)?
The installer will also have component leads in case your TV does not have HDMI, you will only get to keep one set of leads though
