Buying points to get movies, etc on US live account

    I'm looking to dl a few of the tv shows on the US video marketplace. To get Microsoft points to work with a US live account I have can I simply go through the usual method on the dashboard and get them with my c/card?

    Thought I heard someone saying before that you need to buy them off eBay or the like as points for a US account need to from the US and cant be bought with an Irish credit card...... Is this right?

    MS are going to be deleting account like yours if you DL stuff through it. This was announced a while back.

    The reason we don't have the videos and stuff yet is due to our laws over here in Europe or to do with ownership rights.

    They won't delete the account but simply restrict his access to the American marketplace. Also OP you need to buy American points to download movies/tv shows. Do a search and you'll find 2 or 3 threads about it.

    Originally it was said that they were going to delete the accounts but then it was changed that they were just going to restrict the downloads to US based ip addresses. That was the last i heard on it.

    Anyway I don't see the point of getting them off live. took me 16 hours to get an Ep of CSI so unless they improve it and also make it legal here. I wont be wasting my money buying Illegal material :P

    That was right at the start. They have been working on it.


    EDIT: I thought they were only restricting accounts based on CC info, so if you buy your points in a shop or online you will be ok.

    It will have to be an american shop to buy your points. You simply can't use the Irish points on a US account
