Here's my storage drive and my Raptor.
Both 16mb buffer Sata2 but the Raptor seems to be showing a 8mb buffer size

Im pretty sure that raptor only has a 8mb buffer size.

Still not bad for non raid drives.

I'm not running a raptor raid anymore, As i moved them into my server. Am thinking about getting rid of the raid on my AMD system too. As id prefere to have one ghosted.

Considering the kitchen is almost completely taken over with PC gear (currently four PC's running) she has good reason to moan occasionally :)

    Here's mine...

    maxtorhddfb8.jpg

Nah, just joking :D That's a 10GB drive circa... God knows... that I use for backups.

This is my RAID array: two 200GB Seagate 7200.9 8MB ST3200827AS, on an nVidia RAID 0 array and a 32K stripe...

And I benchmarked my USB key as well...

    usbhdddf7.jpg

Which performs nearly as well as the 10GB Maxtor.

Doesnt benchie so well, but the low latency means real-world peformance I'm happy with :)

Maxtor 10K5 U160 on PCI bus:

Yea, that seems slow, it's being beaten by non raid set-ups!

Yeah, but it only has a 8MB cache.

Two 74GB Raptors, ADFD 16MB cache on Intel ICH8R. 64K stripe using the latest 6.2.1.1002 drivers, burst is lower due to the drives not being native SATAII.
