Gonna get one fairly soon, since i only have a wired router....

    1) Will one ordered from american websites still work, such as amazon.com or nintendos online store?

    2) Does it need to stay in the usb port all the time to stay connected to the wii, or can it be taken out and still be connected?

I had a lan cable router. Went and bought a wirless gateway so I could have the wii on line all the time while switching the pc off. Have found it very usefull for the laptop as well. You can get them fome most places fo 50 euro

    This also works

Cheaper and easier to get than the official one.

My wii is online along with 3 DSs in the house using this.

Only downside is pc needs to be on.
