I can't seem to use any of the files I have put on my PSP.

I just dragged over a few mpeg4 files and jpegs, but when I go to the menu on the PSP it keeps saying there isn't any movies or photos ... what am I doing wrong, i thought it was just drag and drop?

You have to place them in specific folders and they have to be certain file types. It's a headache, but there are two veruy good apps that do it all for you: iPSP and PSPware, but they're both commercial.

I payed the 25 odd quid and bought PSPWare which is great but you can do it for free. PSPWare allows you to sync photos, music and movies to your PSP but is really only a fancy front end for ffmpeg.

This page shows how to do it for free and how to name the files before putting them on the PSP.

My recommendation if you intend to buy something is VisualHub.

Another thing to point out, the audio level for movies on the psp is very low in all but the quietest environs, PSPware allows you to adjust it up a bit - I fing 150% works best for me. Popcorn by Roxio is another option and is available in PCWorld but it doesn't allow you to increase the audio level - at least the version I have doesn't.
