Get an Archos. You can copy the MP3's into the Audio folder, and it should work.

The creative ones are compatible, there's an app called XNJB that will connect to it without drivers. There's also a plug in for iTunes but it only works on PowerPC and it won't work if you've got that plays for sure firmware installed. Basically it's compatible but don't install the plays for sure firmware!

ebay and drop your target from 6GB to about 2 as that's all your going to get for 110. I got a 2GB Philips one for €89 (with delivery) so you should find something similar for that.

The software isn't mac compatible but I was transferring music on to my uncle's creative nano today and it showed up as a external drive - drag and drop. Saved me having to install all that Creative crap on to my Bootcamp partition.

Is it the price or choice that is stopping you from going with an iPod? Because, syncing an iPod to a Mac is the easiest, most painless way to go. If it's the price there is always ebay.

that won't play though, it just acts as an external HD. You'll have to put the music onto the creative using software if you want to listen to it, right?

I thought this too at first but it played fine on my uncle's Creative Nano. I was also able to delete the introduction.mp3 this way.
