My son got an Xbox 360 for xmas but unfortunately he's pretty disappointed becuse we haven't been able to get it working. We can read the console control panel on the TV when it's in 50hz but when we put it into 60hz (what his games are) the TV flickers. Is this a case of the TV not being up to the job or is there anything I can do about it?

Looks like you'll have to get a new TV.

How old is your current one ?

    I'd say it's about 8 years old.

You could try putting 360 scart into l2/ av2 at the rear of your vcr. THEN turn on tv, go av1,2,3 to vcr ,press l1.l2 ,OR av2,on the vcr .It might work thru vcr,no harm in trying.go to 36o dashboard, settings, set it to 420 resolution, lowest resolution.TRY A NTSC VCR IF YOU HAVE ONE.

What in the name of GOD are you trying to say????

anyway, if the game requires 60Hz then your TV will also have to support 60Hz

Only other Option is picking up the VGA cable and a adapter (if required) and running it through your PC monitor, if your not up to buying a new TV

CONNECT the 360 thru vcr scart AV2 ,then turn on tv, press L 1, OR L2 ON vcr .IF vcr is pal/NTSC it might display 360 game in black and white.Or connect 360 to AV1 ,Scart 1 on tv .AV1 IS fully wired rgb on most tvs.You can buy a 28inch tv in power city for 230euro approx.Make sure it is 50htz/60htz compatible.360 Games on rear of box, it says Requires 60htz tv.L1 ,l2, av1, av2 is the scart Input on most vcrs, maybe called ext 1,ext 2.CONNECT VCR av1, to av1 scart on tv.i dont think it will work ,theres no harm in trying it .

If your TV supports true RGB scart then it should work no problem if you get a scart cable and not the awful AV cables supplied. Otherwise you'll just have to buy a new TV and if your old TV doesn't support PAL 60 then its about time you got a new one.
