Does anyone know of accommodation for a son starting on an archaeological dig in the Fermoy area in the new year? We're thinking hostel, self-catering, anything considered :( It's for at least 2 months.

Kinlay House in Cork is doing a deal at the moment, 98 euros per week to share.

However I am sure he could get something cheaper on daft if he asked about staying for 2 months.

Most people working on digs for the Fermoy bypass rented out houses around the town. Check out Daft.ie or The Avondhu (the local newspaper)

Shoegirl and Gatsby, many thanks for the replies. Shoegirl, how far would Fermoy be from Cork? Excuse my geographical inadequacies :)
Gatsby, he's already checked on Daft, but will check the Avondhu website again. It was down last week.
Happy New Year to you both!

The avondhu website doesn't show the classified section. He would have to get a copy of the paper.
Its comes out on a Thursday. Not sure if there will be one this week tho' because of the christmas holidays.

Thanks, Gatsby; it looks like it's all off now, however. It was too difficult to find somewhere, and the two that seemed possible were too expensive, in the sense that there was the cost of accommodation, self-catering, ESB and travel to the site; the wages are only around 360 euros.
Thanks to you all for the help.
