I recently purchased this coolskin shaver from the same ebay seller. This is the American version (branded Norelco) of the Philishave HQ7782 which was retailing here for over 200 euro. Comes to 54 euro or thereabouts including shipping. It's a refurb, basically a new shaver that has been repackaged. Not a bad deal at all!

Nice one. I got the philishave for xmas as a present (cost> €200) so I'm going to return that and I've ordered this. :D

In the event you missed out on the initial offer the seller is also selling the same

shaver with added trimmer for an extra $10 which works out at €64 incl P+P.

So has anyone received this yet. Were you caught for import tax on it. I assume that the fact that its going by UPS, there is a very likely chance of been caught.

this is from a different seller, but seems a small bit cheaper than original offer

edit no trimmer with this like the 2nd offer posted

Glad to share the bargain around :) I didn't get caught for duty anyway, in the event you do, it shouldn't be that much. Shipping is by USPS (as opposed to UPS the courier company), so lesser chance of being stopped.

I see these flat pins on the plug of the power cord.
Does mean an adapter is required?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,714 ✭✭✭Darwin

Yes, a US 2-pin to 3-pin shaver adaptor is needed - you can pick up one in any DIY store for around 2 or 3 euro.

I'm very happy with mine, but this is the first electric shaver that I've ever used...

    Just got mine.

    2 annoyances:

    1. I don't seem to have gotten the sideburn trimmer attachment? Did anyone else get one?

    2. That charging stand is the most annoying thing ever! The shaver keeps falling out of it. Is there a way to make it fit properly into the stand?

Other than that, fantastic shave. Even when I don't use the lotion, it gives a closer shave and is less irritating that my previous wet shave routine.

/Agree. Very happy with mine also. There is no sideburn trimmer but then we're not in the seventies anymore. :D

I find that it is a knack to slotting it in. My Gripe is that after a week of use the battery charge lights showed two on but it stopped suddenly. I got the expected use out of the charge though so I can only assume it is a battery power learning thing. I will see how it goes after the second charge.

I didn't get charged for import either.

How long did you leave it charging the first time?

8 hours. It has been fine since. Very happy with it and it gives a great shave at traffic lights.
