Is the cubebase guitar pro edition a good buy for home recording with a good pc and guitar from bedroom?

In pc world for about €69.99

Save your money and download "Audacity" (do a search on this)it's free, and probably every bit as good as Cubase. The most important thing for recording your guitar into your computer is your sound card NOT, your software.
What sound card do you have?

    Cheers

Maybe spend a bit extra and look into a Line6 TonePort. Comes with software and ya don't need an amp.

    Get 'Reason', it's free.

    Reason is not free.

    It costs about €300.

It's also completely incapable of recording audio of any sort.

thanks for all the replies. I already have Line 6 Guitar Port with Riffworks recording software. Good for beginners but the sound quality when converted to wav file and then burned onto cd was just ok....and the drums are slightly limited. Does anyone have drum packs for the Line 6 Riffworks to email to me or even some REX drum beats.

I just purchased the Line 6 POD XT Live floor based unit.
Unbelievable piece of kit....10 out of 10 for every guitarist.

My sound card is Creative Sigma Tel Highdefinition...something like that...new pc from Dell about 2 months ago.

One of the advantages of using Cubase is that you are learning about a program that you can get to know and grow with from the smallest set up to a high end pro project. That said it's hard to beat something that's free and the knowledge you get on Audacity will carry you a long too.

This is conjecture, but alot of PC sound cards are aimed towards media playback and gamers. Therefore, they cannot compete with a pro audio card because of a problem with 'latency', a delay in the playback of a processed sound.
