Just put this on the boast sticky and wondered what feedback I could get from here. I make the nuts on the turn, but I've really no idea if I played this well. Appreciate any comments. We're 8 hands in and I haven't played a hand yet. LAG at the table is FL_Nudist. Evertone else is pretty tight.

your check on the turn is a bit suspicious that you have hit something although i do believe peoples denialability would discount the straight flush i would still be wary of this bet. i like your bet in the flop though as you have a half decent hand and it is disguised if you hit imo. however i would of bet out on the tunr as i think toy will be getting a caller from disbelievers

    fold pf lol!

yep...but on the sb with the blinds being so low. See the flop to see if the poker gods like you.

You were very lucky (then again who hasn't :)). If you were put on the flush or straight you were beaten....

JJ you would have been grand:)

I dont mind not betting on the turn to be honest, as it could look like you are scared of the flush, also with it being the start of the sng the opponent will have no clue how you play and there are people who would fold decent hands instantly if a flush came on the board even without a read.
    Monsters under the bed!

I think you played it grand, obviously you wer lucky that he went all in for you.

bet the turn and the river and get as much money in there as possible, by checking the turn and betting the river, your letting him off very cheap for a monster of hand, people dont tend to bet out with monster hands, so its hard for them to laydown if they have top pair etc. They think your on a steal etc.

If you bet the flush on the turn, he might still have you on the straight and top pair etc, you really need to bet to find out how much he likes his hand, the problem here is your position, so you have to act first, you were really lucky that he also had a monster and the 10 save you in this hand from not getting paid. Also, betting the turn builds up the pot allowing you to bet more on the river

You want to bet extraction bets on the turn and river(both 1/2 the size of the pot) and keep him in the pot and get paid, checking on 4th is not good, unless the player is aggro

The bet on the flop was perfect.

I changed the nick for the sake of simplicity. Sorry about the mistake.

I don't often catch hands like this, as usually my good hands will contain broadway cards of one shade or another. I find it difficult to play low to middle pairs and suited connectors but completing from the SB with this was a no brainer. The straight flush, however created all sorts of confusion.
I think my big concern was that I had insta-called the raise on the flop (His finger could hardly have been off the button and I'd called). So I shouldn't have been surprised when he checked behind on the turn.
Looking back now I can see that betting the turn would have been optimal. Like Ollie says 'who leads out with a straight flush?' But my thinking was to make it look like the flush scared me. And based on that I couldn't see how I could bet any more than I did at the river. It was supposed to represent an "I don't like this much but I'll have a go" bet. (Which probably looked like a pathetic value bet anyway).

I guess I was just really lucky the ten fell on the river. Thanks for the input fellahs, it's much appreciated.
