After about a week of making clicking sounds my sky+ box has finely given up the ghost ( on feckin Christmas Eve and all!! ). I've been on to sky and they say that I require a call out. I've heard that this will cost me around E130.

So my question is how much would a new box cost me and where would I get one from.

    Thanks for your help.

New box could cost you nothing depending on how old it was/under warranty.

If they try to con you into paying €130 for a callout and it was only bought fairly recently then it clearly wasn't fit for the purpose, so scream the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services act at them and threaten to bring them to the Small Claims Court. :D

All this depends on how old it is.

Otherwise, my Sky+ box cost €149 once-off when being installed a couple of months ago.

Or you could replace the hard drive, Does watching live TV still work? If the box is dead then a Power supply fault.
