Too late for Chrimbo, obviously, but this looks not too shabby, for the price (€115.51 delivered).

Acer is a pretty 'trusted brand', I'd have thought, and the player itself gets decent reviews on the likes of Amazon and Ciao.co.uk.

Last bargain alert of the year for me; see yez in 2007...:)

works for me, very good price, but probably not a very good player, suppose it would be useful as portable storage etc

Sounds a little too good to be true tbh.

Shipping within Ireland is ~€22. I like the sound of the usb host function, does that mean i can hook my camera up via usb and move files to it without pc?

    It is what it's.

maybe my iriver usb host is hit and miss with usb devices (cameras etc.).

Well I bit the bullet and ordered worked out at €93 in total. They bill in stg.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,383 ✭✭✭peckerhead

They're actually located in Huddersfield. Not too sure how they wangled a .ie domain name, tbh!

Got an email today confirming mine had been dispatched... :)

P.S. As for the sound quality, the 10GB model seems to get a pretty good review here here and here. Nice to see it priced at £112-£120, too!

I added three items and was just being charged the once off charge of €22 for delivery for all three items!:D

    Good Stuff.

€22 for delivery is a bit steep, but it is still a great deal for the player.

    Irish couriers are notoriously expensive.
Any cross border deliveries are jacked up.

what exacly is wrong with it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,523 ✭✭✭optiplexgx270

I'd say as an mp3 player its a bit crap but for a 20Gb drive 90 is a good price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 693 ✭✭✭rgfuller

Note that the player does NOT have a radio function.

Though it does have USB host and line-in recording as well as a built in mic.

The missus got hers in the post yesterday. I spent quite a while last night ripping and transferring various music tracks but all is well.

She has been going about a good part of the day with the earphones in and I haven't heard her as quiet since before the time I got my hearing aid :D

Seriously, a good product at a very good price

was thinking of buying but had another look at spec, battery life a bit lame etc so i thought id wait to see if any opinion came back, id say its grand for light user, just around the town type of thing?, though ud think that a radio would be wanted 2?
Not one for the cross country 3 day bender:D

What exactly did you find wrong? UI? etc
    cheers

Mine arrived yesterday, no radio as mentioned above. But I wanted it mainly for playing music in the car (connected to the car radio). 20 Gb disk makes for a very big jukebox.

I'm not a real music player person, never really got the whole iPod thing - still use my CD Walkman. I'm sure it's missing a bunch of features that newer machines have, but for my purposes it's great.

It's small - to me anyway. My sister has a 20 Gb Zen Jukebox, which is over twice the size. In the leather case it comes with, it's approx the size of a box of 20 cigarettes.

For 90 euro, it's a great bargain for me. Just have to finish loading my CD's onto it, then never have to worry about the kids scratching them in the car again :-) Just have to worry about not losing the MP3 player.

I'd defo recommend it to anyone who is not too concerned with the latest gizmo, and just wants a lot of portable music.

Hi, can anyone who bought one tell me if it has a bookmark facility (I cant find the userguide online).
I listen to podcasts and need to be able to properly bookmark and come back to a section of a long mp3 file (even after listening to something else).

    Many thanks.

The link in Post #29 may help

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 666 ✭✭✭dancin

    No bookmark facility.

It's not a good player if you want the full features that something like an iPod has.

Think of it as a CD Walkman, but one which can hold approx 250 CD's. Pick a folder (CD) and play the contents of that folder. Turn it off and it forgets where it was.

So it's no iPod killer, but as a replacement for a CD Walkman, it's perfect.

Dont know much about it but I do know that it lists everything in different folders so when turned on you can select which folder/album you wish to listen to and I think you can select which track to start at

Just received mine yesterday. I ordered it on Monday (cost €105 inc shipping). Not a bad little machine. Quite well built. Comes with psu, 2 USB cables (one for plugging into your PC and one to connect USB devices to the player to transfer files from them (cool feature), earphones (average), 3.5mm - 3.5mm cable (to plug in an CD player for ripping I think) and a case (don't think I'll be using that).

All in all I'm happy with it and for that price it's great. It's smaller than I expected. The CD in the photo in this link http://www.technfun.com/mp330.html is a mini CD, not a normal CD like I thought.

Same as that got 4 of them, 1 for myself and 3 mates, all are happy with the purchase, no ipod, but for 74 euros delivered u cannot expect much.

I plugged a 20gb USB drive into it and it hung like a horse, but it works fine off the USB on the PC

How did you get it for €74

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,767 ✭✭✭el diablo

I'm considering buying one of these. I was just checking it out and the total is 75.89 euro.

so is the delivery charges added after I check out or what?

and is it 22.70 euro for delivery to Ireland?

    hopefully someone can help me.....:D

    Orange pilled.

You will pay extra for delivery. The Euro/Sterling exchange rate has slipped a wee bit over the last couple of weeks so I would expect you to pay around about 97 - 98 euro approx all in. I bought mine about 3 or 4 weeks ago and it worked at at just over €95 including delivery. - Still a good price though

It was actually a birthday pressie for she who must be obeyed. She hasn't complained since - well not about the MP3 player anyhow.:D

She's still using the little headphones that came with it and says the sound is good. This is her third MP3 player over the last couple of years and she is more than happy with it.
