    Sorry if this isn't in the right forum but can anybody recommend an antivirus software for 2007? Not Norton! I will never use them again

    AVG, latest version free at this site. Regular updates too and I've been using it for a while now with no issues.

    I think you were the subject of unqualified gossip, agv free will remain free for the foreseeable future. The isue regarding payments was a missunderstood upgrade message.

    True. I have upgraded to the free 7.5 version and still working fine. I have used AVG for six years now and would not change.

    Their official free website is http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

    The main reasons I hated norton was the scan time
    2.5 hours to scan an 80gb drive even though they quote "35 mins" . And they might try and invent a software that actually blocks viruses not one thatnlloks good and annoys you

    I went to the site myself, and there is now a charge in order to continue.

    Nortons terrible. I've been happy with installing AVG on loads of machines for years, ditto anyone who PC's I've fixed it gets AVG on it, (after removing Norton) and I've had no one complain about AVG.

    Forget about Norton, not worth it when there are so many better, free versions available. I use Anti-Vir and it works great, avast!, AVG and NOD32 also work very well.

    AVG Ftw. We also use the commercial version at work. Norton / McCaffee too much of a system hog.

    Best = NOD32
    Free = AVG or Avast!

    nod32 is a complete system hog compared to avg though.
