how do you transfer music from a mini disc to an mp3 player?

i am not able to put the mini disc onto the computer.

surely they must be in some way compatible because you are transfering the same data to the mini disc from the CD in the first place.

    any ideas?

You'll need a MiniDisc player with a headphone out jack. Then you'll need a wire/lead that has a stereo minijack at each end (these plugs look like the little ones that you use to plug in your earphones).

So plug one end of the wire into the MiniDisc player, the other end into the line in or mic in socket on your computer. Then press Play on the MD player and use software like Audacity to record the audio stream and to convert it to MP3.

Now this isn't strictly the correct way to do this. The resulting audio quality might sound a bit crap, but the proper way to do it involves digital audio hardware that I'm assuming you don't have ;)

Is'nt is possible to get an CD caddy adapter for the mini-disk format and extract the files using cdex or similair?

    Mike.
