Have a small sound problem with my x-fi. Well not small. As i get no sound from it at all.

I just installed a new heatsink ( tuniq ) And a new NB cooler ( thermalrite hr-05 sli ) And also did some cable tidying.

But now, no sound plays at all from mp3's to divx's. I noticed When i rebooted the graphics card driver wasnt loading. So i reinstalled that and everything is fine now. I checked the device manager and can see any problems with the x-fi.

I loaded up the auio console and noticed i cant pick what speaker config im using, headphones/2.1/5.1 ect ect.

So i uninstalled it. and reinstalled, but i still have the same problems. No sound from the 5.1 speakers. headphones, or even from the breakout box.

Anyone got any ideas/suggestions? As im really stumped by this one

    This is what I'd do...
Uninstall/remove the xfi from the device manager.
    Shut down & plug out
    Reseat the soundcard
Boot up and let windows re-detect

If no worky, check if the card works normally in another PC... or see if jumping over to another PCI slot does anything.
Or it could be any number of poxy little software problems, which a driver update might fix.
If all else fails, retrace your earlier steps for something you missed while staring into the open case and stroking your chin going "hmmmmm".
