i was playin on pokerstars.com yesterday and i went head to head against one of the players i had pair aces and he had ace 2 so i was thinking it was allover that i would win but no on the flop he got his two 2 and nothin came up for me on the turn or river.

now i know he could have got a straight but whats the chance of that. i was askin why he went all in with ace 2 and he said if he had one high card that he was willing to do it all the time.

so heres is my question is there many people on here would play a high card with a low one?

This is a bit sketchy any more info!

Did you have a pair of aces (pocket pair) or flop a pair of aces???

Did he go all in on the flop or preflop?

Anyway i wouldnt be doing this early stages when the blinds are smaller i would be alot tighter, but when the blinds become large enough the range that most people will be pushing will become alot wider Q10+ j10 K10 etc even K or Q rag so pushing all in with A rag is often good enough. All depends on the opponent, some people play like a maniac, some people play uber tight.

this is heads up in an stt right, if that is the case, any Ace is a big hand.
depending on the blinds, moving in with A2 could well be the correct play.
If the blinds are big relative to the stacks in play, then he should open raise with any reasonable hand, (or literally any hand if u are playing as tight as it seems u may have been).
If the blinds are still small, then hes making an overbet and u will eventually pick him off.
