thomas pynchon, the legendry 'reclusive' writer, has now appeared on The Simpsons, despite wearing a bag over his head, three times.

the latest time was two days before his new book was released!

has he now lost his charm, appeal and status?

Surely the most important thing about his role as an author should be his books and not whether he lives up to an image (or lack thereof).

    charm/appeal = no way.
status? maybe to some people, but thats irrelevant to his writing ability.

i thought his appearances on the simpsons were funny anyway...
