Dunno about a price drop unlikely tho! Smyths are usually very good for the package deals.. You'd pick PGR3 up fairly cheap 2nd hand on boards or in game/smyths cos its an old game, prob get it for €15-€20

Completely off the top of my head, but I'd venture a guess that any price drop will coincide with either the PS3 launch or the summer holidays... wouldn't be entirely shocked if it happened in January, but I wouldn't be banking on it at all.

My theory is that, rather than cut the RRP on the two models they'll just drop the 20gb one down to the core price, end the core sku and bring in a new "premium" model with a 60gb HDD and/or the HD-DVD player bundled... that said a €100 price cut on the 20gb model is probably a bit too ambitious to expect too.

Doubt there will be a price drop anytime soon, as Mircrosoft have said, those who want a PS3 enough to queue all day will try buy a PS3 regardless of X360 price, and the fact that we will probably get about 10 for the whole country in March (if indeed it launches in Europe in March), means it won't be competition for a good while.

I think anyone who wants a cheap xbox 360 should wait til next week.

I bet Tesco will run the 25% off electrical again during the January sales. When that offer ended last Sunday night my local Tesco still had loads left over and they will have to shift them during January.

Yeah hang on for Tesco ... that was one of best deals... surely should happen again... but be certain of some form of better package deals or price drop around time of PS3 launch... be surprising if anything until then ...

That didn't include consoles, did it?
As far as I'm aware outlets only make a 10-15% mark up on console hardware; Tesco aren't going to sell at a loss.

It included consoles...got a 360 premium and GoW for €337 last week.

As for them selling at a loss, I think they've struck some deal with M$ or something...~€110 off a console is a big hit in the margins.

Tesco were actually selling it at 50% in the first weekend of this month. 25% off and another 25% back on your clubcard.
